if i didn't text you first, would we still talk?

or would i be in the background, just a replaying afterthought?

in your busy life with your busy day

you and your busy mind, too busy to say "hey"

but it might be better this way, because if you wanted to, you would

maybe you just don't want to talk is something that i should

consider, but i can't, for the sake of what we had

before things took a turn, before the good went bad

I'm tired of hanging onto nothing, always waiting on you

i think i know what it means, but i wish it wasn't true

so I'm asking you for an answer, putting you on the spot

if i didn't text you first, would we even still talk?
