Q: What inspired you to teach?

A: Ms. Cardoz credited her inspiration to Sir Savio D'Souza at St. Xavier’s. His guidance and
passion for teaching had a profound impact on her own educational journey and motivated her to pursue a career in education.
Q: What challenges have you faced while teaching?
A: She noted that one of the significant challenges in today’s educational landscape is the
overwhelming focus on grades. Many students are driven by a desire to achieve high marks
rather than engaging in the process of learning for understanding. This results in a perception that subjects like chemistry can be dull, ultimately detracting from the joy of discovery and exploration in the classroom.
