Sanaa Gore Datar

It's been 6 years since I last set foot in Bombay Scottish School as a student. Saying that out loud feels so crazy because it definitely does not feel like 6 years. In fact, it feels like yesterday that I was sitting in my class with all my friends and silently hoping the next period would be a free period so we could convince Mrs Almeida to let us go and play on the field! There's a quote that says “I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them.” That definitely applies to my time at Scottish. But somewhere, I think we all knew those were the good old days and we lived them to the fullest. There's so much that I learnt at Scottish, it fit all the pieces of my puzzle together! It gave me a stage (literally) to express myself, helped me hone my skills and moulded me into the person I aspired to be. The elocutions are where I learnt to be confident, sports days taught me sportsmanship and team spirit, the classrooms helped me understand the meaning of camaraderie and finally, being school captain taught me the true meaning of the famous quote, “ with great power comes great responsibility”. Scottish has given me memories to last me a lifetime and I'd give anything to go back to the good old days ….. even for just one more day.
