In this interview, she talks about the cherished memories, the unexpected lessons she has learned from her students, and innovative approaches to make economics interesting. Her views reveal deep dedication to education and passion for lifelong learning.

Q: Your efforts do not only bring about an interest in economics they also elicit inspiration and motivation in us. May we request you to share a memorable experience or challenge from your early career or your younger days that shaped your approach to the profession?

A: I used to teach in Calcutta where students were very hardworking. So when I shifted to Bombay I realized that they [the students] did not want to take my suggestions. Delhi and Calcutta are hub for ISC. In Bombay, I knew what I was doing but they were very reluctant to take it so that is then they started they started understanding that ‘Okay, this is how it is in this board’.

Q: Was there any unexpected thing that you learnt from your students?

A: Every batch teaches you something. They are more technically technologically savvy so that is something that is something they will find out easier ways of teaching topics so  there's a lot to learn from students and it is never a unilateral process it's always a bilateral process. I also get to learn as long as I'm open minded and I am acceptable to what they are telling me I am open to learn.

Q: Is there an economic concept or fun fact that you want every student to know?

A: Economics is a very technical subject. Maybe there could be a fun way of learning, That would be there so for example when we are having a concept of marginal utility or you know cardinal concept of utility then we could have select a few no. Of students and make them have a particular product from example a ten rupee chocolate within a gap of 10-12 minutes and see the amount of satisfaction they get so whether it is increasing or decreasing so actually you Wil come to know that the cardinal concept of utility works or not so this could be there method of teaching not that you will find it fun.

Q: Is there any quality that you are looking to find in your students?

A: They should be open to learning at any point of time, So learning need not be only in my class, learning can be outside any time , the quality of a student should be grasp when it's being taught retain and reproduce this can happen anytime so you can be grasping concept wherever life is a big teacher life is an experience so learn from everywhere from not only subjects these are all momentary things So these are the things you can keep in mind.
