From Darkness to Light

As the sun rises, bringing us a new day,

Let us hope that all darkness fades away,

Wonders for mankind are what it brings,

Heartfelt hope and golden wings.

Wings that will enable us to fly high,

Wings that can counter the devils that pry,

Wings that stand as a sign of rebellion,

Strength to empower each and every one.

For it is strength which helps to open one’s eyes,

Strength, which allows us to catch one’s lies.

This strength lies within our heart of hearts.

Surely, a virtue that holds value among the arts.

However, today exists a society filled with doubt.

Suspicion and greed is the new “trending” route -

A route filled with evils and mercilessness,

Where some treasured traits include ruthlessness.

So let us all forgive, unite and do our bit,

For only with forgiveness can we all be well-knit.

In a world full of anger and atrocities,

Let us dutifully share our responsibilities.

We will pledge to forever smile and cherish,

We will pledge to effortlessly grow and nourish.

Together if we conquer this fearful plight,

I know we can lead the world from darkness to light!
