I wake up early in the morning
Start my day by groaning
Oh! I’ve not had enough sleep!
Then, I stop the alarm’s beep.
Next, I slip out of bed,
Though my legs just feel like lead
Somehow, I take a quick bath
And start on preparation- path!
After my bath, I brush my teeth
My fatigue is swept underneath.
Homework sits around to be done
It’s not even any fun!
Complaining loudly, I do it all
When I hear my mother’s call
Sandwiches are for breakfast everyday
In that choice- I have no say
I brush my very short hair
And put my tie and sash with care.
Far away is the School bus horn
So, I quickly slip on my uniform
The books all go into my bag
Wit its weight, the bag can only sag.
I check and check and recheck once more,
Once my shoes are on- there’s the door!
With an afterthought, I check my list
Is there some assignment missed?
Whatever it is, it’s too late now
I’m late- I must catch the bus somehow.
Luckily, the bus is waiting and I sit down
With my friends, I chat and frown
How much do I have to do for school!
How are my friends so calm and cool?
No, I think- it’s all in the mind
For my student duties bind
After all, for a student of my age
My duty is to study, page by page.
